The sixth edition of HOSPEX Healthcare Expo concluded at the Chakolas Pavilion Convention Centre in Kochi, Kerala, after three days of discussions, exhibitions, and professional networking focused on the changing landscape of healthcare. Held from September 24 to 26, the event brought together hospitals, healthcare professionals, medical-device companies, diagnostic firms, startups, technology providers and other stakeholders under the theme, 'Future of Healthcare'.

The expo opened on September 24 with an inaugural session focusing on Kerala’s healthcare capabilities and its potential in the global healthcare and medical-value-travel sector. Discussions covered clinical excellence, international healthcare services, medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and the skills required for a future-ready healthcare workforce.

Diagnostics and laboratory technology received particular attention on the opening day. The Smart Diagnostics Workshop examined the growing role of artificial intelligence and automation, laboratory information systems, point-of-care testing and home diagnostics. The sessions also explored patient-centred laboratory services and the need to develop skills suited to increasingly connected healthcare systems.

Artificial intelligence took centre stage on September 25 during the AI in Healthcare Conclave. Participants discussed applications ranging from patient triage and clinical decision-making to diagnostics, precision care, hospital operations, patient monitoring, surgery and rehabilitation. The programme highlighted the expanding role of digital technologies across the patient journey while bringing healthcare professionals and technology innovators into the same forum.

The final day continued the focus on healthcare infrastructure, technology management and professional capacity-building, including sessions on smart healthcare facilities and biomedical engineering. The expo provided a business platform for companies and healthcare institutions to explore partnerships and emerging opportunities.

With its combination of exhibitions, conferences and workshops, HOSPEX 2026 offered a consolidated view of how technology, diagnostics, infrastructure and international healthcare services are reshaping the sector, while positioning Kochi as a meeting point for Kerala’s expanding healthcare ecosystem.
