Global Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave to highlight Kerala’s potential in the field

Highlighting Kerala’s potential in wellness tourism, the first International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave will be held on February 2 and 3 in Hotel Tripenta, Kozhikode. Kerala Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the conclave on February 2 at 11 am.

The conclave is organised by the Ayurveda Promotion Society (APS) in association with the Department of Tourism and other tourism and health organisations. It will bring together Ayurveda scholars, wellness experts, policymakers, academics, industry leaders, travel professionals, and international delegates from across the world, according to APS President Sajeev Kurup.

The conclave aims to promote Kerala as a global destination for Ayurveda and holistic wellness tourism. It will support the state’s efforts to develop wellness tourism in a responsible and sustainable manner. Apart from business discussions, experts will share ideas and experiences through presentations and panel discussions. Eminent personalities who have contributed to Ayurveda and wellness tourism will be honoured during the inaugural ceremony.

Panel sessions will be held on key topics such as Kerala as a Global Hub of Ayurveda, Integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into Wellness Tourism, Research in Ayurveda and International Acceptance, and Medical Value Travel and Ayurveda. These sessions will feature leading doctors, researchers, wellness practitioners, and tourism professionals from across India.

On February 3, a B2B (business-to-business) meet will be held at Dimora Hotel, Kozhikode. This interaction will connect 150 international and domestic buyers with 100 Ayurveda service providers from Kerala. The event will involve international and Indian travel agents, yoga operators, bloggers, and media representatives. The goal is to strengthen Kerala’s position in medical value travel, wellness retreats, Ayurveda healthcare, and yoga tourism.

From February 4 to 12, international delegates will take part in a familiarisation tour across Kerala. The tour will include visits to Ayurveda resorts, wellness retreats, yoga centres, hospitals, and manufacturing units. Delegates can experience Kerala’s culture and heritage through visits to places such as Kerala Kalamandalam, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, and Kochi Port Cruise, and experience the state’s wellness and cultural ecosystem.
