Ayurveda brings strategic advantage to armed forces

With the Indian Army opening its doors to the possibilities of Ayurveda and making lives better for the people in uniform, experts believe that it bestows the armed forces with a medical and strategic advantage.

Advancements in Ayurveda, like Ayurveda Nanocellopathy, can provide them with safe, scientific and effective healthcare solutions. Ayurveda Nanocellopathy uses plant extracts in the form of serum oils to be used externally on the skin to treat and prevent diseases. It can be used as a standalone solution or as supplementary support.

One of the major areas of its use is in the treatment of High altitude pulmonary oedema (HAPO). It occurs due to the rapid ascend of a person to high altitudes causing fluid accumulation in the lungs.

To prevent HAPO, a 17-day acclimatization protocol is followed by the Indian Army to induct its jawans at high altitude areas. Through the regular application of the oil serums, the duration for acclimatization can be reduced significantly, while simultaneously increasing posting periods at

high altitudes. This ensures a strategic advantage over the enemy during a war-like situation.

In addition to this, Ayurveda Nanocellopathy can ensure better prevention of vector-borne diseases as well as better preliminary treatment of wounds, cuts and burns. The pocket-sized and easy-to-use solutions can take medical solutions to the remotest of places relatively easily.

Such innovations in healthcare can ensure better safety, security and well-being of the armed forces personnel, experts say.
