AIIA conducts Awareness and Academic Activities as part of World Cancer Day observation


A series of awareness-oriented and academic activities were conducted by the Centre for Integrative Oncology (CIO), All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, as part of the World Cancer Day observation on February 4. It aimed to reinforce the institute’s commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and integrative care through Ayurveda.

The activities commenced for students on February 3. Slogan and essay writing contests were held to promote creative engagement and sensitise young minds to imbibe the importance of cancer awareness, prevention, and holistic healthcare.

Academicians, clinicians, researchers, and students attended the main programme on February 4.

Patient sensitisation and awareness activities were held in the morning. AIIA New Delhi Director Prof. (Dr.) Pradeepkumar Prajapati; Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Badwe; Dean FAUM, DU Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala; Dean (PG) Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Yadav; Dr. Pramod Yadav; Dr. Amrish Dedge and Dr. Meeta Jhala attended the inaugural ceremony

They emphasised the growing cancer burden and the importance of Ayurveda-based integrative oncology for prevention, supportive care, and survivorship.

Patient Awareness talks were given on early warning signs of cancer, lifestyle risk factors, and the role of Ayurveda in cancer prevention and supportive care by faculties, PhD and Post graduate scholars of AIIA on the hospital OPD premises.

A comprehensive Report on CIO Activities in 2025 was presented by Dr. Amrish Dedge, highlighting the Centre’s initiatives in integrative cancer care, research, awareness programmes, and patient care.

This was followed by the release of the CIO Information Brochure by the dignitaries, marking an important step in disseminating knowledge on Ayurveda-based integrative oncology services available at AIIA.

Awards were given to the winners of the Slogan and Essay Competitions.
