ITRA Jamnagar Wraps Up 100-Day Yoga Drive, Connects Over 4,500 People Ahead of Yoga Day

Ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, successfully concluded its 100-day countdown campaign, reaching more than 4,500 participants through a series of yoga awareness and outreach programmes, on June 19.

The campaign, centred on the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ featured 11 major events, including yoga workshops, Common Yoga Protocol training sessions, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes, free yoga classes, ‘Yoga 365’ group practice sessions, national-level competitions and a ‘Run for Yoga’ awareness rally.

Participants included students, healthcare professionals, senior citizens, labourers, prison inmates, security personnel and members of the public, reflecting the campaign’s broad community outreach. Youth engagement was a key focus, with competitions in poster-making, poetry, shloka recitation, songwriting and reel creation drawing enthusiastic participation.

Beyond public awareness activities, ITRA continued its efforts in yoga education and capacity building through diploma and specialised courses in Yoga Science, Lifestyle Management, Wellness, Dietetics, Ayurveda and Naturopathy. The institute provides year-round free yoga training too, including dedicated programmes for pregnant women and senior citizens.

As part of the International Day of Yoga celebrations on June 21, ITRA students will present a special ‘Yoga Fusion Performance’ combining music and yoga. A large gathering is expected at the Yoga Mahasangam event at Dhanvantari Ground, with participation from doctors, students, faculty members and residents from Jamnagar and neighbouring districts.

With its extensive outreach and educational initiatives, ITRA's campaign underscores the growing popularity of yoga as a tool for preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.
