IDY Handbook 2026 released

The Ministry of Ayush has released the IDY Handbook 2026, a multilingual guide aimed at supporting preparations for the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations across India and abroad, recently. Available in English, Hindi and 21 regional languages, the handbook brings together essential information on IDY, the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), Ministry initiatives and public participation opportunities.

Designed as a one-stop reference for organisers, educational institutions, government agencies, yoga practitioners and community groups, the handbook seeks to make authentic yoga-related information more accessible and encourage wider participation in IDY 2026.

The publication traces the journey of the International Day of Yoga since its adoption by the United Nations in 2014 and outlines major programmes planned for 2026. These include flagship initiatives such as Yoga Sangam, Harit Yoga, Yoga Samavesh, Yoga Park and Yoga Unplugged, along with countdown events leading up to June 21.

The handbook also serves as a digital toolkit, providing QR codes and links to Common Yoga Protocol videos in multiple languages. This enables citizens across the country to access standardised yoga guidance with ease.

Besides, it highlights public engagement initiatives, including competitions hosted on MyGov, encouraging citizens to actively participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations.
