Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave Ends; highlights Kerala as frontrunner in wellness tourism

Over 3,200 Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings were recorded at the two-day International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave that ended on a high note on February 3 in Kozhikode. The two-day conclave was inaugurated by Kerala Tourism Minister Mohammed Riyas.

According to authorities, the day-long, structured B2B sessions facilitated wide-ranging interactions among 150 international and domestic buyers and leading Ayurveda service providers from Kerala. Around 30 Indian agents, 30 yoga operators, along with 30 international and 20 Indian bloggers and media professionals participated.

The conclave attracted more than 125 delegates representing 34 countries, highlighting Kerala’s position as a frontrunner in wellness tourism. Russia sent the largest delegation with 22 participants, followed by Germany with 14 delegates.

The two-day conclave was organised by the Ayurveda Promotion Society in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and other tourism and health related organisations. It brought together Ayurveda scholars, international wellness specialists, policymakers, academicians, industry leaders, travel trade professionals, and global stakeholders.

Beyond facilitating business partnerships, the conclave featured a series of expert presentations by leaders in the Ayurveda and wellness sectors. These discussions helped strengthen Kerala’s efforts to establish itself as a global hub for Ayurveda and wellness tourism through a responsible and sustainable development approach, according to the authorities.

The event functioned as a key platform for knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, B2B engagement and international cooperation, helping accelerate Kerala’s journey toward becoming the world’s most trusted destination for Ayurveda and holistic wellness tourism. Emphasis was placed on enhancing the state’s role in medical value travel, wellness retreats, Ayurveda healthcare and yoga tourism.

A tour for international Ayurveda and yoga ambassadors will begin on February 4. It will take international delegates across various locations in Kerala, starting from Kozhikode on February 4 and concluding in Thiruvananthapuram on February 12.
