Dr C A Raman passes away


Ayurveda Acharya Dr C A Raman passed away in a private hospital on November 10 in Thiruvananthapuram owing to age-related ailments. He was 94.

His life was devoted to the science and philosophy and authentic traditions of Ayurveda, his profession and passion. His vast experience ranged from learning with tribal medicine men to collaborating with universities and even working alongside the Kerala Government.
He was a prominent figure in the field of traditional medicine as a former Ayurveda Director and Special Officer (for Folk Medicine and Therapy).

He was the physician of the then Chief Minister K Karunakaran, ministers, members of the Travancore royal family, and prominent figures in the political and cultural field. He has a long list of disciples and has received many recognitions including national and international awards as part of his professional career.

Since 1995, Dr. Raman served as the Chief Physician at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Hospital.
