Uttarakhand to develop AYUSH village in every district: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting Ayurveda, announcing that one AYUSH Village model is being developed in each district along with new yoga and wellness centres across the state.

Speaking at the World Ayurveda Conference and Arogya Expo programme, he described Ayurveda as a unique medical system that addresses both physical ailments and mental well-being, adding that its holistic approach has led to its growing global acceptance.

Noting that hosting the event has helped showcase Ayurveda’s potential for achieving good health, not only in India but globally he said the essence of knowledge, experience, and deep deliberation will guide research, policy-making, and public health in the field of Ayurveda for years to come.

Highlighting Uttarakhand’s rich heritage, he noted that the state has been a repository of Ayurvedic wisdom and medicinal wealth since ancient times and medicinal herbs from its mountains have played a vital role in establishing Ayurveda as a foundation of health.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a coffee table book of the AYUSH department and a poster for Vigyan Vidyarthi Manthan, and honoured individuals for their contributions to promoting Ayurveda.
