International Yoga Festival, Rishikesh, to promote spiritual cleansing and recovery

India is taking Yoga to the world. In India, it is Rishikesh that has become synonymous with Yoga. Known as the Yoga capital of the world, it is believed that some of the greatest spiritual personalities in history, including Adi Shankaracharya, have practiced Yoga in Rishikesh. Set in the backdrop of the holy Ganga River, the serene and beautiful surroundings of Rishikesh presents the best environment for one to practice Yoga.

In its latest attempt to promote Yoga, Rishikesh is hosting the International Yoga Festival, 2024, from March 15 to 21. To be led by yoga gurus, spiritual luminaries, and health experts, the occasion will present participants with an opportunity to delve deep into the ancient wisdom of yoga and meditation.

There will be panel discussions covering various topics including the benefits of music therapy and the science of intuition through Pragya Yog, Marm Chikitsa, Yoga, and Strishakti, among others. Renowned bands will also be featured as part of the festival. The event is being organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.

By exporting Yoga and spirituality to the world, India has become a beacon of righteousness and mental well-being to the world. In the words of Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy:

“The entire world is looking towards India for physical and mental well-being through Yoga and meditation. Crores of people worldwide are coming to India to learn Puranas, Upanishads, and Vedas, understand our culture and lifestyle, and look up to the great men and women of this country for inspiration and blessings.”

The International Yoga Festival is the latest in a long series of movements initiated by India to spread goodness and peace of mind to the whole world. With it, the event also promotes the tourism prospects of Rishikesh and the state of Uttarakhand as a place for spiritual cleansing and recovery.
