Dr. S Gopakumar, the Medical Superintendent of Government Ayurveda College in Kannur, has recently been appointed as the Registrar of Kerala Medical University. He is a distinguished member of the Academic Council and Governing Council of Kerala Health University. Dr. Gopakumar has an impressive background, having previously served as the RMO at Thiruvananthapuram Govt. Ayurveda College Hospital. He holds two MD and Ph.D. degrees and has received numerous awards from various prestigious institutions, including the State Government, Central Ayush Department, Central Ayurveda Council, and Kerala University of Health Sciences. Dr. Gopakumar is not only a respected lecturer and writer in the health field but also a prolific author of many books on Ayurveda. He has showcased his expertise by presenting papers at both national and international scientific seminars. In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Gopakumar has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to society, receiving awards such as the Best Ayurveda Teacher Award from Kerala University and the best program officer of the National Service Scheme from Kannur University. He is also a talented poet and lyricist. Dr. Gopakumar comes from a distinguished family in Thiruvananthapuram Pattam Adarshnagar, with his father being Mr. K. Srikanthan Nair and his mother P. Krishna Kumari. He is happily married to Vinaya, and they have a daughter named Ameya.
