India celebrates 5th International Day of Yoga

To commemorate the 5th International Day of Yoga several yoga programmes were organized across the country. All Indian missions across the world were too asked to celebrate the International Day of Yoga in a grand manner. Let’s have a glimpse of how India celebrated this special occasion.

  • ITBP personnel performed yoga at an altitude of 19,000 ft near OP Dorjila, Sikkim at a temperature of minus 15 degree Celsius.

  • Defence minister Rajanth Singh performed yoga along with other people in New Delhi.

  • People performed yoga at Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi. This venue was selected as the main location for the 5th International Day of Yoga.

  • People practice Shavasana near India Gate at a massive Yoga Day event in Delhi.

  • ITBP personnel performed yoga on International Yoga Day at Indo-China border in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.

  • Indian Air Force’s Western Air Command dedicated their yoga session to Climate Action on Yoga Day 2019. More than 500 IAF personnel along with their families were present for the event.
  • Members of Parliament practiced yoga asanas at Parliament premises in New Delhi.

  • The Army’s Dog Unit also practiced Yoga to celebrate the 5th International Day of Yoga.

  • Indian Navy personnel practice yoga on submarine INS Sindhudhvaj

  • ITB personnel participated in a yoga session in Leh, Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Indian Army personnel deputed at several posts in the Himalayas performed yoga.

  • Troops of Assam Rifles, CRPF, Police and civilians performed yoga at Indo-Myanmar border despite the weather and rain.

  • Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) troops of ATS Lohitpur performed yoga with their dogs and horses in Arunachal Pradesh on International Day of Yoga.

  • Border Security Force (BSF) personnel performed yoga in Jammu.

  • Yoga day was celebrated by Indian Navy and Central Industrial Security Force personnel at Marina Beach in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

  • Personnel of ninth battalion of Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) performed River Yoga in Digaru River near Teju, Lohitpur in Arunachal Pradesh.

  • ITBP personnel carried out mass yoga at 14,000ft near Rohtang Pass, Himachal Pradesh, even with the temperature touching minus 10.
